Die BASF hat am Standort Ludwigshafen die geplante Kapazitätserweiterung ihres Spezialweichmachers Hexamoll® DINCH von zuvor 25.000 auf nun 100.000 Jahrestonnen abgeschlossen. Die Erweiterung wurde in den letzten 6 Monaten vorgenommen, um die steigende Kundennachfrage zu befriedigen. Die erhöhte Kapazität steht ab sofort zur Verfügung.

Hexamoll® DINCH ist ein innovativer Weichmacher, der speziell für den Einsatz in sensiblen Anwendungsbereichen entwickelt wurde. In den vergangenen Jahren lag der Einsatz-Schwerpunkt auf Spielzeug und Medizinartikeln. In Verbindung mit dem positiven Bescheid der Europäischen Behörde für Lebensmittelsicherheit (EFSA) und der Aufnahme in das 4. Amendment der Richtlinie 2002/72/EC, die Additive und Monomere im Lebensmittelkontakt reguliert, werden künftig auch bedeutende Wachstumsimpulse von Produkten mit Lebensmittelkontakt wie Verpackungsfolien, Schläuchen oder Dichtungen erwartet.

New BASF Production Plants for DINCH Commissioned

At its Ludwigshafen site, BASF has completed the planned capacity expansion of its special plasticiser Hexamoll® DINCH from the previous 25,000 to 100.000 tonnes per year. The expansion was undertaken in the last 6 months to satisfy rising customer demand. The increased capacity will be available with immediate effect.

Hexamoll® DINCH is an innovative plasticiser that has been specially designed for use in sensitive areas of application. In recent years, the main uses were in toys and medical products. In conjunction with the positive decision of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the inclusion in the 4th Amendment to Directive 2002/72/EC, which regulates additives and monomers in contact with food, in future major impetus for growth is expected from products that come into contact with food, such as packaging films, hoses or seals.
