PVC-RECYCLING – THE SUCCESS STORY

Approximately 60% of the PVC manufactured every year is converted into building products. For these PVC products (windows, pipes, floor coverings, and roofing membranes), recycling plants and collection systems have been established and improved since the beginning of the 1990s. For some of these products, the systems have been in existence over large areas. The recycling facilities are fundamentally based on the same technical processes and consist of comminution technology including cryogenic grinding as well as conveyer and sorting aggregates. The recovered PVC ground material is used for manufacturing new PVC windows, floor coverings, pipes, roofing membranes, and sealing membranes.
