PVC-Recycling
Die Produktionszahlen und die Marktentwicklung von PVC und PVC-Produkten weisen einen weiterhin positiven Trend auf. Die PVC-Branche sichert und schafft Arbeitsplätze: Herstellung, Verarbeitung und Recycling von PVC summieren sich in Deutschland auf etwa 20 Milliarden Euro Umsatz und 170.000 Beschäftigte in mehr als 5.000 Unternehmen.
Rund 60 Prozent des jährlich produzierten PVC wird zu Bauprodukten verarbeitet, die am Ende ihrer Nutzungsphase als Abfall in der Baubranche und Entsorgungswirtschaft anfallen. Für diese PVC-Produkte Bodenbeläge, Dachbahnen, Fenster, Rohre und Planen wurden bereits seit Anfang der 90er Jahre Sammelsysteme aufgebaut und Verwertungsanlagen errichtet, die für die Abfallbesitzer eine bessere Alternative als die Deponie darstellen.

Nicht zuletzt durch die finanzielle Unterstützung von Vinyl 2010 – der Freiwilligen Selbstverpflichtung der PVC-Branche (PVC-Hersteller, Additiv-Hersteller und Verarbeiter) – werden die Recyclingaktivitäten immer weiter ausgebaut.

Rohr-Recycling: Ein voller Erfolg
Der Kunststoffrohrverband e.V. (KRV) hat bereits 1994 mit dem Aufbau eines Sammel- und Wiederverwertungssystems für Kunststoffrohrabfälle die Zeichen der Zeit erkannt. Seit 2005 setzt der KRV sein neues Sammel- und Recycling-Konzept für Kunststoffrohre erfolgreich mit zertifizierten Entsorgungsfachbetrieben zusammen um. So hat der KRV mit der Tönsmeier Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG eine Kooperationsvereinbarung geschlossen. Das Unternehmen übernimmt die Sammlung, Aufbereitung und Verwertung von Kunststoffrohrabfällen und weist jährlich einen testierten Mengenstrom über die werkstofflichen Eingangs- und Verwertungsmengen nach.
Der KRV fördert – mitglieder- und werkstoffübergreifend – das werkstoffliche Recycling von Kunststoffrohrabfällen. Das System zur Sammlung und Wiederverwertung von Kunststoffrohrabfällen steht allen interessierten Firmen der Branche offen.

Verwerterliste
Die Verwerterliste bietet eine aktuelle Auflistung der Betriebe, die in Deutschland alte PVC-Produkte annehmen und daraus Mahlgüter, Regranulate oder neue Produkte herstellen. Mit der Suchfunktion kann nach verschiedensten Kriterien gesucht werden. So ist es zum Beispiel möglich, gezielt nach angenommener Abfallqualität und daraus hergestelltem Endprodukt zu suchen. Mit rund 60 PVC-Verwertern stellt die Verwerterliste ein wichtiges Informationssystem dar. Sie finden die komplette Liste hier.

Fördern von Sammeln und Recycling
Als exklusiver Partner der europäischen Recovinyl (Brüssel) in Deutschland, unterstützt die Deutsche PVC-Recycling GmbH (DPR) das Sammeln und Verwerten von Post-Consumer-PVC-Abfällen aus gesetzlich nicht regulierten Abfallströmen. Recovinyl ist eine Initiative von Vinyl 2010, einer vom gesamten europäischen PVC- Sektor eingegangenen Verpflichtung zur nachhaltigen Entwicklung.
Die DPR arbeitet im Verbund mit der Arbeitsgemeinschaft PVC und UMWELT e.V., Bonn.

Bodenbelags-Recycling
Die Arbeitsgemeinschaft PVC-Bodenbelag-Recycling (AgPR) sammelt bundesweit und in einigen europäischen Nachbarländern gebrauchte PVC-Bodenbeläge, die in der Recyclinganlage in Troisdorf (Deutschland) für die Produktion neuer PVC-Bodenbeläge aufbereitet werden.

Dachbahnen-Recycling
PVC-Dach- und Dichtungsbahnen werden in einem bundesweiten System in Partnerschaft mit dem Logistiker INTERSEROH oder direkt von einem Unternehmer der Entsorgungswirtschaft eingesammelt und anschließend recycelt.

Fenster-Recycling
Die Rewindo GmbH, gegründet Ende Juni 2002, vereint die bisherigen Gesellschafter der Fenster-Recycling-Initiative (FREI) sowie das Unternehmen VEKA AG. Mit den Recyclingpartnern Tönsmeier Kunststoffe und VEKA Umwelttechnik wird ein bundesweites Sammelsystem für Alt-Fenster betrieben. In den Recyclinganlagen in Behringen und Höxter werden ausgediente PVC-Fenster (Rollladen und Türen) zur Herstellung neuer Fensterprofile aufbereitet.

Planen, Textilien und Membranen
Das Projekt von EPCOAT (EuPC PVC Coated Fabrics Sector Group) ist eine Initiative der Hersteller beschichteter Textilien in Europa, die Anwendungen wie Planen, Zeltbahnen, Werbetafeln, Kunstleder usw. umfasst. Im Recycling-Bereich erhielt die friedola Gebr. Holzapfel GmbH in Meinhard einen großen Teil der zu recycelnden Mengen. friedola hat zur Bewältigung der anfallenden Mengen umfangreiche Investitionen vorgenommen. Die Recyclate können derzeit beispielsweise in Abdeckplanen oder Verstärkungstextilien eingesetzt werden. Weitere Einsatzgebiete sind noch in der Erprobung.

PVC-Recycling
The production figures and the market developments of PVC and PVC products continue to follow a positive trend. The PVC industry secures and creates jobs: in Germany the production, processing and recycling of PVC account for turnover of around € 20 billion and 170,000 jobs in over 5,000 companies in production, processing and skilled crafts.
Around 60 per cent of the PVC produced annually is made into construction products, which – at the end of their useful lives – occur again as waste in the construction industry and disposal sector. Collection systems have been in place for PVC floor coverings, roofing membranes, windows, pipes and sheets since the early 1990s and recovery systems have been set up that present a better alternative to landfill for the owners of the waste.

Not least thanks to the financial support of Vinyl 2010 – the voluntary commitment of the PVC industry (PVC manufacturers, additive manufacturers and processors) – recycling activities are being further expanded.

Pipe Recycling: A Complete Success
As early as 1994 the association of plastic pipe manufacturers, Kunststoffrohrverband e.V. (KRV), recognised the signs of the times by establishing a collection and recovery system for plastic pipe waste. Since 2005 KRV has been successfully implementing its new collection and recycling concept for plastic pipes with certified specialist waste disposal companies.
For example, KRV has concluded a cooperation agreement with Tönsmeier Kunststoffe GmbH & Co. KG. The company is responsible for the collection, treatment and recovery of plastic pipe waste and every year proves an attested quantity flow of the quantities of incoming materials and recovered materials.
Irrespective of members and materials, KRV promotes the material recycling of plastic pipe waste. The system for the collection and recovery of plastic pipe waste isopen to all interested companies in the sector.

List of Recyclers
The list of recyclers contains an up-to-date list of companies that accept old PVC products in Germany and make ground material, regranulates or new products out of them. You can use the search function to search according to the most varied criteria. For example, it is possible to specifically search according to the quality of waste accepted and the final products manufactured. Containing around 60 PVC recyclers, the list of recyclers is an important information system.

Supporting collecting and recycling
The Deutsche PVC-Recycling GmbH (DPR), as exclusive partner for Germany of the European organisation Recovinyl, Brussels, situated in Germany, supports collecting and recycling of Post-Consumer-PVC-waste out of non-law regulated waste streams.
Recovinyl is an initiative of Vinyl 2010, a voluntary commitment incurred by the entire PVC industry sector for sustainable development.
DPR works in cooperation with Arbeitsgemeinschaft PVC und Umwelt e.V. (AgPU), Working Group PVC and Environment, Bonn.

Floor coverings recycling
The Association for PVC Floor Covering Recycling (AgPR) collects post consumer PVC floor coverings in Germany and some other European countries, which are processed to a finely ground powder at the AgPR recycling plant in Troisdorf (Germany). This powder is used a.o. to produce new PVC floor coverings.

Roofing membranes recycling
PVC roofing and sealing membranes are collected in a nationwide system in partnership with the logistics company INTERSEROH and then recycled.

Window recycling
Rewindo GmbH, founded at the end of June 2002, combines the previous shareholders of the Window Recycling Initiative (Fenster-Recycling-Initiative – FREI) and of VEKA AG. A nationwide collection system for waste windows is operated with the recycling partners Tönsmeier Kunststoffe and VEKA Umwelttechnik. Old PVC windows (shutters and doors) are treated for the manufacture of new window profiles in the recycling plants in Behringen and Höxter.

Sheets recycling
The EPCOAT (EuPC PVC Coated Fabrics Sector Group) is an initiative of the manufacturers of coated textiles in Europe, which comprises applications such as sheets, tent sheets, advertising boards, artificial leather, etc.
As far as recycling is concerned, friedola Gebr. Holzapfel GmbH in Meinhard receives a large proportion of the quantities to be recycled. friedola has made considerable investments to cope with the quantities received.
Currently, the recyclates can be used in cover sheets or reinforced textiles. Other possible applications are still at the testing stage.
